Born in the North of England, I emigrated to Australia with my family as a child returning to the South Lakes after a few years. I left for London in my late teens.
My dyslexia, and not fitting in, had left me feeling as if I couldn’t learn and would have few job opportunities. A careers adviser gave me two options: hairdresser or nuclear shipbuilding.
I chose the safer option of cutting hair and talking to human beings about their relationships.
After many years in West End salons listening to the stories and experiences of my clients, raising my four children, and living with my husband who had a terminal illness, I developed a motivation to understand human dynamics at a deeper level and decided to retrain as a professional counsellor/therapist.
I divide my time between London and the South Lakes.
